There are plenty of excellent resources available specific to public skatepark development.  Here’s a few we recommend.

Skaters for Public Skateparks
This is a worldwide non-profit group based out of the Pacific Northwest dedicated to public skatepark development.  Skatepark advocates and builders can share information via forums on a variety of topics pertinent to public skateparks such as vision, advocacy, fundraising, management and DIY (do-it-yourself.)

The Tony Hawk Foundation
The Birdman is helping communities make their skatepark projects reality by rewarding grant money to those willing to work hard for what they want.  Good information on the positive impact of skateparks on America’s youth.

San Antonio Skatepark Association
The San Antonio equivalent of the El Paso Skatepark Association.  Carter Dennis and the boys have been established for a while and have made plenty of progress with public skatepark development in the Alamo City. Excellent photo gallery of Texas skateparks.

Dr. Skateboard
Dr. Skateboard is Bill Robertson, a Ph.D. in Education with more than 25 years in the sport of skateboarding.  This site combines the best of both education and skateboarding.  Robertson, a UTEP professor and El Paso Skatepark Association co-founder, has developed an action sports science curriculum for middle school that has been adopted by the El Paso Independent School District.

C39 E-Magazine 39 backwards is EP. That red-afro'd ripper Damien Gonzalez goes green with a paperless, online zine that spotlights the El Paso skate scene. With rider profiles, product reviews, random news, photos and more, Gonz puts some positive vibe in our skateparks and leaves you nothing to wipe with!
