Future Mountain View Skatepark gets 3D conceptuals

After a pair of public input meetings, SITE Design Group has produced 3D concept renderings of what the future Mountain View Skatepark will look like - mas o menos.

The 15,000 square foot concrete skatepark, funded by a $1 millon Community Development Block Grant, will be located at 8400 Diana, in Northeast El Paso (adjacent to Magoffin Middle School.) Mucho props to local youth advocate Gilda Wilson a.k.a. "Grandma Gail" who worked with neighborhood skaters and City Rep Susie Byrd to secure the funding.

Construction funds of more than $915k should be ready to spend in September 2012. Meanwhile, the more than $104k is alloted for design is being spent ahorita! Jaxon and Cristal from SITE stepped it up with a design footprint that includes a triple pool, large flowbowl and wrap around street course with rails, ledges and stairs. KEEP IN MIND: These 3D renderings do not show all details - stuff like pool stairs, tiles, coping styles and hip treaments. SITE has reassured us that they will continue to work closely with EPSA while hammering out the prelim and final construction documents with engineer Francisco Campa of Conde Inc.
