City of Las Cruces public skateparks

Las Cruces Skatepark

165 N. Walnut Street

The first concrete skatepark at this locale opened in the late 1990’s but was completely demolished with Spohn Ranch building a smaller, modernized layout in 2024.

Still NOT OPEN “officially” due to reasons unknown. While the sign on the construction fence still surrounding the skatepark says no trespassing, kids skate it anyway and get kicked out by cops on a daily basis.

East Mesa Skatepark

4502 Sonoma Springs Avenue

Located at the East Mesa Public Recreation Complex, the City of Las Cruces officially opened this small, but mighty skatepark with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 12, 2026.

Designed and built by Grindline Skateparks, this kidney bowl and line course layout is part of a major 10-acre park expansion phase funded by the 2022 General Obligation Bond.

Vega Neighborhood Skatepark

6950 Vega Street

Located in the Metro Verde neighborhood, the locals call it “SMOL Park” – AI says SMOL is internet slang for small, when describing something that is tiny and extremely cute.

Built by Spohn Ranch. Good for a few, smaller street skating hits.
